Minutes, General Meeting

Rosary: 7:19PM The Joyful Mysteries

Roll Call: Meeting opened at 7:44PM. Excused absences: Recorder Jim Gedicke, and Chaplain Roger Swenson. Reading of the minutes was dispensed.

Treasurer Ron Altobello: Insurance premium cost, $1,782, annual.

Financial Secretary Jerry Madere: 2006 dues are coming in. Traveling cards aren’t received. Paid $47.00, refreshment expenses. Bill Talafuse sent another $500.00.

Lecturer Ken Krey: Radio Rosary is seeking $100/month to continue. Jim Daigre stated Radio Rosary sponsored by the Holy Name Society is unable to supply funds. Council will propose another split with SCS Men’s Club. Our share $600/ 6 months.

Right to Life Chairman Bob Borne: Picketing needed at the abortion clinic, 2nd Saturdays of each month. 3-25-06 is Day of the Unborn

Deputy Grand Knight Paul Bates: District Free Throw Contest will be 3-11-06, 9:00AM at Lafayette , LA. Two St. Catherine’s kids have qualified. Requested all members attend the Parish Mission 3-18,19,20,21,22-2006. Council’s retreat is 3-25-06, 8:00AM to 4:00PM Closing Mass. Fr. Nick Pericone, Retreatmaster. Next Quarterly Communion, 4-02-06, 9:00AM Mass, Rosary 8:30AM. 4-13-06, Holy Thursday, Four Knights needed for canopy. 4-14-06 Good Friday Three Knights needed for carrying the Cross. Feast of St. Catherine is 4-29-06.

Council Director Tony Maurin: Lenten Supper will be publicized in Times Picayune and School Bulletin.

Webmaster David Lynch: Requested Maurin send him minutes of meeting for website.

District Deputy Joe Welch: Our council is in “good standing”. State Secretary Donald Fontenot  and Supreme requests two representatives from our council to the State Convention, 5-04-06, Kenner Pontchartrain Center . Archbishop Alfred Hughes celebrates Mass. Major degree exemplification 4-02-06, River Ridge.

Grand Knight Mickey Lacombe: Officers Meeting postponed one week, 3-28-06, because of the Parish Mission. St. Patrick’s Parade booth cancelled because required Jefferson Parish electrical inspection couldn’t be obtained in time. The “Blue Mass” for first responders is scheduled 11:00AM Mass, 5-21-06, breakfast follows in Barrett.

Chairman Bob Farmer: Menu for Lenten Supper, potato salad, green salad, gumbo, catfish, bread, chips. Maurin will shop Sam’s Club, Sav-A-Center and Leidenheimer (30 loaves 36in.). Prices: Entrees, fish or gumbo, $6 wine or beer $1. Telephone committee needed. Thursday, cut, boil, marinate potatoes 6 to 9:00PM. Friday, prepare food then serve then clean up two shifts 3 – 6:00PM, 6 – 9:00PM.

Good of the Order: Many intentions were stated. Prayers were said.
